The Colorado High School Athletics Association sanctioned Esports for the first season in Fall 2019-2020. Pinnacle Charter School began competing in this Spring Season, and the Timberwolves are already ranked 4th out of 43 teams in the state of Colorado. Spring season runs from February through May.
Pinnacle was also featured on CBS4 during the process of building computers this past November: https://denver.cbslocal.com/
“It has been a really fun and exciting season for us so far,” says Coach Richard Alpert. “We have been competing for about a month, and it is awesome to see our Pinnacle students participating and succeeding.”
There are a total of 14 players competing for Varsity and Junior Varsity at the high school level. Five players are in each match at a time, and competitions are held each Tuesday at the school. The current games available for play are League of Legends, Rocket League and Smite.
“We are very excited with the way this season is going and I’m so proud of how well the students are doing,” says Coach Alpert.
Congratulations, Timberwolves, and keep up the great season!
