PINNACLE CHARTER SCHOOL PURCHASES 11.4 ACRES FOR NEW ATHLETIC FACILITIES

Pinnacle Charter School has completed the purchase of 11.4 acres of land just west of I-25 & 84th Avenue, between the Appliance Factory at 321 W. 84th Avenue in Thornton, and the RTD Park & Ride at 8700 Grant Street.  The school has purchased the property to develop new athletic facilities for the school, as well as mixed-use community property for all of Thornton.

“We are very excited to build this vision we have for our school with the inclusion and input of the Thornton and Federal Heights community,” says Pinnacle Charter School CEO Chad Miller.  “While we are set on creating an athletic field for our students, we are also welcoming ideas from the neighbors and community members who will also be welcomed to use this property.”

Some of the ideas being proposed include a revamp of the trail, workout stations and playground spaces.  In addition, there will be a meeting space on the property that will be available for use by groups within the community who wish to use it for gatherings of up to 50 people.

Pinnacle has partnered with JHL Constructors and Hord Coplan Macht Architects to build out this vision and create a beautiful property that will be accessible and useable for residents all ages.  In addition, the City of Thornton is highly involved in creating a beautiful space that will uphold the active living values the city embraces for residents.

Pinnacle plans to have everything finalized to begin construction in spring of 2020.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to collaborate with this amazing team and incorporate the community in a way that will create a fantastic place that serves the school, Thornton and Federal Heights,” says Miller.  “We want to thank everyone who has helped us with the process so far, and we look forward to a successful build-out in the coming months.”
