Transcending Time with Student Production of Chicago: High School Edition

Adapted from the award-winning Broadway musical, Chicago, Pinnacle and Early College of Arvada (ECA) theater students give new life to the roaring 20s, for two weeks in January and February, with their astounding production of Chicago: High School Edition. In search of the American Dream for fame, fortune and acquittal, students transcend the ages with impressive set design, inspirational acting and an entirely student-based technical crew and orchestra pit.

Royalty-free productions of Chicago: High School Edition are made possible through Pinnacle and ECA theater students’ joint submission of a winning application for the Razzle Dazzle Competition from Samuel French. Pinnacle/ECA are one of 10 American schools to receive the recognition and were granted access to scripts, production rights and licensing for the show at no cost.

The joint venture between PCS and ECA is recognized among both schools as Timbergriffen, a free after-school theater program offered to students. Founded in 2015, the program exposes students to the wide-world of theater, including dance, vocal and acting lessons. Timbergriffen produces four main stage shows each year - a cabaret-style performance; mainstage musical; mainstage play; and a summer theater show for younger students and directed and produced by older theater students. Timbergriffen’s technical crew encompasses members of Pinnacle’s Professional Technical Internship Program for hands-on technical stage training and experience to students in grades 8-12, and works in collaboration with the program’s dance company, Wonderbound.

Chicago: High School Edition runs for two weeks at The Performing Arts Complex at Pinnacle Charter School. Tickets are on sale now at ecarvada.booktix.com.
