CMAS & PSAT/SAT Opt-Out Process
2026 - 2027 School Year
Parents/Guardians wishing to opt their child out of online CMAS & PSAT/SAT State Testing must complete an Opt-Out Form (linked below). Building Principals will review the request and contact the family to discuss the family’s preference and the rationale and benefits of CMAS Testing. These assessments are now administered online in compliance with H.B. 25-1278.
If the opt-out choice is still requested, Principals will inform the family that their child will have an altered schedule on testing days and the student will not be in a testing environment; consequently, the student will be in study hall or an alternative supervised location.
Finally, the parent/guardian must sign a document officially opting their child out of testing for the current school year. This document will be provided by the building Principal and returned by Principals to the Assessment Coordinator. This process must be followed each school year, if the parent/guardian wishes their student to not participate in CMAS Testing.

Proceso para Optar No Participar en CMAS, PSAT/SAT

Los padres/guardianes que deseen optar a su hijo/a de las Pruebas Estatales de CMAS & PSAT/SAT deben completar un formulario de exclusión (enlace a continuación). Los directores revisarán la solicitud y se comunicarán con la familia para discutir la preferencia de la familia y la justificación y los beneficios de las pruebas de CMAS. Estas evaluaciones ahora se aplican en linea de acuerdo con la ley H.B. 25-1278.
Si aún se solicita la opción de exclusión, los directores informarán a la familia que su hijo/a tendrá un horario alterado en los días de prueba y que el estudiante no estará en un entorno de prueba; En consecuencia, el estudiante estará en la sala de estudio o en una ubicación supervisada alternativa.
Finalmente, el padre/guardián debe firmar un documento oficialmente optando a su hijo/a de las pruebas de CMAS para el año escolar actual. Este documento será proporcionado por el Director del edificio y devuelto por los Directores al Coordinador de Evaluación. Este proceso debe seguirse cada año escolar, si el padre/tutor desea que su estudiante no participe en las pruebas de CMAS.
