Colorado Seal of Biliteracy
A seal of biliteracy is a credential given by a Colorado school or district recognizing students who have studied and attained proficiency in two or more languages by high school graduation. A seal of biliteracy encourages students to pursue biliteracy skills that are attractive to future employers and college admissions office.
Three basic data points a student must meet to qualify for a Seal of Biliteracy:
- English Proficiency
- Overall GPA of at least 3.0 in required ELA courses
- 470 or higher on SAT section of “Evidenced-Based Reading and Writing”

First or World Language Proficiency

Intermediate Mid (ACTFL) or above on the AAPPL (I-4), ALTA (1+) or another CDE approved test
